Golden Boomerang Landcare: AUSTRALIA
.....projects afoot
Sun and wind provides electrical needs.
The communications tower
supports antennas including 27mhz radio, UHF, CB Radio, mobile telephone, VHF television, FM radio and climbing beans. It's used by radio enthusiasts on occasions. It's for regular TV and hi fi in general. A satellite dish for receiving internet, television and so on in a to and for basis via satellite, would top this Idea off. Technologies and Ideas are shared, keeping everyone informed and updated: (come on telstra)
The dam pictured above is fed from this tank. >>
It's on a spring fed creek. a little dam is is referred to sometimes, as a tank. >>>>>> A siphon also operates from this tank each time it fills, emptying water into the creek below: A Good flow and body of water travels down the creek setting up a Gully RAKER Effect. Rock bars built along the creek below have enhanced meandering and water makes the distance to the Palmer's Oaky creek in Hot Dry Times. This had not occurred before the siphoning began. The creek seemed to dry up in hot dry weather: Waterfalls and ponds have developed along the creek's path. Water filters and aerates along its way: A wall directly behind this pond will see a waterfall fifteen feet high falling in. This fall will keep the pond floor healthy and clean for bathing and a better home for ALL Life. The outlet pipe to that dam pictured above will be kept clear: Victor Schauberger Living Water >> the book more
MORE Stone Bars under construction >>> (grunty work is being carried out shifting stones and rocks from around the farm and transporting them to this project>>>> Work continuing>>>more keen waterfall builders NEEDED. (hurryUP) VOLUNTEER Now
THE Stone Bar illustrated here>>
WILL see a waterfall fifteen feet high when finished: This is the highest point to the spring fed creek on Our lease: It's on the southern fence line:
It'll also revitalise a water race built by Chinese prospector's in the 1800s: Once the wall is complete, water will flow along the old Chinese water race on to the higher dam at the foot of this pic>>>
then continue along the race to a sump beneath the windmill>>>
also set on the water race. Pumping efficiency will greatly increase for the water going to the hut storage tank:
(gosh, what a mouth full)
Household needs, vegetable gardens and an orchard, are gravity fed from the system.
Ten years of Permaculture Gardening around one hut IS Doing WELL.
Rainwater is collected separately for drinking:
The gully below is a result of lava flow, from the old volcano: Established tracks meander through the skeletal centre of a proposed native forest of species like bush tucker plants, medicine trees and so on yet to be planted: Gardeners with some know how NEEDED ALL THE TIME:
This section of Gully could be rainforest in No Time: Plenty of Water & Sunshine energy available: Human energy required for....Quicker FIX
Ferreting is lots of Fun: Ferrets are being used to control Rabbits: Rabbits can cause soil erosion, but mostly devour any chance of establishing vegetation at all: Some people find the practice a bit bloodthirsty as rabbits are someTimes chewed by the ferrets: Some people don't like that..... That's cool:::: Never mind...All burrows are mapped and logged: Catches and warren activities are being studied: A competitive edge is developing catching rabbits:: It's Entertainment and Fast Food for ALL.
More ferreter's & hunters could be used in many areas of Australia: Government's use of 1080 Poisson could be STOPPED and more people occupied>>>
History of rabbits in Australia
Roller coaster + + +
Meandering tracks and roads weave through the hills:
Observation of animal tracks, water reticulation, and other phenomenon, led to the development: Most tracks are tilted to the down side, avoiding gutters.........gullies are walled, terracing areas: It's a roller coaster ride down the HILL >>>
Tracks provide access to firewood, tree maintenance, make wondrous observation trails & entertainment:
Everyone has introduced their Own Particular Art of gardening in chosen spots over Time: We've All helped maintain one an other's plots & Ideas: Good crops of fruit and vegetables have been produced: Ten years of Permaculture Gardening around One hut IS Doing WELL: There's plenty to do and eat.
WINDMILL MAINTENANCE Concreting will complete installation of this Southern Cross Windmill: All bolts need to be checked: Gear oil need's changing & checking someTimes: The Fan bearing has an oil filled chamber requiring checking occasionally: Top job for a handy climber or pilot::
The windmill needs attention Now and Then:
The tap at the bottom of the windmill
needs purging regularly, not only to revitalise an air cushion but to water a grape vine: Gear oil needs checking.....[better to use safety harness when climbing up the tower, than SLIP]
Petrol pump backup:
A motor pump has worn rings: It's used mainly in summer and dry weather for watering gardens around the hut. Its still running ok, but does no doubt use some oil: It'll need a tune SOON > Bits NEEDED:. Mechanically minded? This is for You...Volunteer for Landcare
ANOTHER ENGINE: better known as the Finger SLICER>>> drives a diving compressor used for observing marine Life among other things: Bits for ...HONDA G42 engine : A general overhaul & new recoil START:
Parkfence FENCE Stage 1
A fence as shown on aerial view is under way: This Will keep Livestock In or Out as You See IT:>>> from a 3/4area re-vegetating section: A two kilometre, seven strand, native animal friendly stock control fence will complete the plan: Nine strainer posts will begin stage one. Dead timber on site is being used for posts. Boundary riding by volunteers after completion will see an interesting trail around the property.
A community nursery in Lithgow provided ten species of trees and shrubs from around the Lithgow district: Most planting's have been successful: They've been planted in select locations on the reserve to produce a Good Spread: Seeds are being collected along roadsides in the district where fortunately some trees have survived.
Once Our nursery is better established a Good collection of local species will have been collected and cultivated: Perhaps some rain Forrest clone donations or some such thing from surrounding Landcare projects might begin an interesting forest of Ideas> There's certainly plenty of water and shelter here: It's a step protected valley that's open to the north:
Areas have been fenced off from livestock allowing natural re-growth:
More trappers are needed to catch wild animals: Foxes, cats & dogs are otherwise being killed using government distributed poison 1080: It's ALL a real threat to birds, and native animals: A secure enclosure has been suggested for display of the feral predators once we catch them. Perhaps the RSPCA might help control or end their Lives: The white cat pictured above was a pet: He spent most of his TIME catching rabbits: Another cat trap has been donated by a friend at Cronulla recently. It had been used in a possum relocation program by a wise man. (thankYou for that and the jumper)

Goats have been used to control blackberry, sweet briar and other weeds: Serrated tussock is dug out by mattock: ...Horsemen, dogs and land hands... plan to manoeuvre goats around blackberries in sensitive areas soon: Blackberries must be reduced from spreading to comply with Government regulations: (otherwise we'll end up in court again) Blackberry bushes make Good Transitional Homes for birds and other wildlife:

Construction of a Ferro cement cave resembling a Drink Can, is set to GO: It's taking as long as the Sydney opera house to build, but as Time draws closer to completion much has been contemplated and accomplished: Open to the north, it's thirty feet wide and sixteen feet deep: It ought to be a landmark, directly under a main flight path of aeroplanes travelling to and for from Sydney: Windows in the eastern end of the cave see morning sun, plus an opening for a kiosk during festivals: The cave's main use is for a seed raising nursery: Wheel chair access and raised concrete troughs are planed for... inside the cave: Everyone will get a fair GO: The troughs will fill from overflow of the water tank above as the wind blows and overfills the tank: Steel hoops and other materials are assembled ready for... construction: A generator will be needed next,,, for welding >>> the day we start: If you think You're cut out for cave building, join IN, for...SURVIVAL's SAKE:>>> Incidentally, one person who put finishing touches to Our first cave, was blind
